Serve the warm and fluffy buttermilk biscuits with your favorite toppings, such as butter, jam, or honey, and enjoy their tender, melt-in-your-mouth goodness! These biscuits are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a delightful addition to any meal.
Ingredients
- – 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour plus 1/4 cup extra for rolling
- – 4 tsp Baking Powder
- – 1 tsp Baking Soda
- – 1/2 Cup Salted Butter cubed and cold
- – 1 1/4 Cup Buttermilk
- – 2 Tbsp Butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a medium-sized baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.
- In a food processor, add the dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda) along with the cold cubed butter. Pulse the mixture for about 10-15 seconds or until the butter is broken up and incorporated into the flour, creating a coarse, crumbly texture.
- Slowly pour in the buttermilk while continuing to pulse the food processor. Pulse until the dough comes together and forms a cohesive ball.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Work quickly to keep the butter cold. Bring the dough together and shape it into a rectangle. Take the top half of the dough and fold it onto the bottom half. Repeat this process four times, creating multiple layers in the dough.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1 inch. You can use a floured rolling pin to do this. Cut the dough into square or circle biscuits, whichever shape you prefer. Place the cut biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for approximately 13 minutes or until they are golden brown and have risen.
- Once the biscuits are done baking, remove them from the oven and brush the tops with melted butter to add a delicious finishing touch.
