Oven Baked BBQ Chicken Wings
These Oven Baked BBQ Chicken Wings are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that will surely satisfy your cravings!
Ingredients
- 3-4 lbs Drums and Flats Chicken wings
- 2 Tbsp Mustard
- 2-3 Garlic Cloves minced
- ¼ – ½ cup BBQ Sauce Optional
BBQ Rub:
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
- 1 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Cayenne Optional
Instructions
- In a large bowl, place the chicken drums and flats, and add mustard. Toss the chicken to coat it evenly with mustard. Next, add minced garlic and the BBQ rub to the bowl. Toss the chicken again, ensuring that each wing is coated with the flavorful rub. Cover the bowl and let the chicken rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. On a large baking sheet lined with foil, place baking racks that have been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Arrange the chicken wings on the racks, leaving a little space between each wing. Pour any leftover juice and garlic cloves into a small saucepan and bring to a high simmer for 5 minutes to create a delicious sauce.
- Place the chicken wings in the preheated oven. After 20 minutes of cooking, flip all the wings and baste them with the cooked sauce from the saucepan. Continue cooking for another 20 minutes. At the 40-minute mark, check the internal temperature of the chicken with a food thermometer to ensure it has reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Once done, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- You can enjoy the wings as they are or, if desired, toss them in your favorite BBQ sauce for an extra burst of flavor.
