Air Fryer Hawaiian Chicken Skewers
Sweet and spicy delicious flavors of these Air Fryer Hawaiian Chicken Skewers!
Ingredients
- 2 Chicken Breasts Cut into 1-inch Cubes
- 1 Red Bell Pepper Cut into 1-inch Cubes
- 1 Red Onion Cut into 1-inch Cubes
- 1 Fresh Pineapple Cut into 1-inch Cubes
- 8 Skewers Cut to fit Air Fryer
- Optional: Spiceology’s Maui Wowee Hawaiian Teriyaki Rub
For Marination:
- ½ Cup Limeade or Pineapple Juice
- ¼ Cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1/3 Cup Ketchup
- ¼ Cup Brown Sugar
- 6 Garlic Cloves Minced
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 1 Tbsp Chili Paste
Instructions
Marination:
- In a large bowl, combine limeade or pineapple juice, low sodium soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, minced garlic, honey, and chili paste to create the marinade. Set aside ½ cup of the marinade for basting later.
- Add the chicken to the remaining marinade in the bowl. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
Assemble Skewers:
- When ready to cook, thread the marinated chicken, red bell peppers, red onion, and pineapple onto the skewers in equal portions.
- Optionally, sprinkle Spiceology’s Maui Wowee Hawaiian Teriyaki Rub over the skewers for added flavor.
Preheat and Air Fry:
- Preheat the air fryer to 370 – 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 – 190°C).
- Place the assembled chicken skewers in a single row in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you might need to cook in batches.
- Cook the skewers for 8 minutes, then carefully flip them over.
Baste and Finish Cooking:
- Baste the skewers with the ½ cup of reserved marinade.
- Continue to air fry for an additional 8 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74°C).
Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the skewers from the air fryer.
- Serve the Hawaiian chicken skewers alongside rice or your preferred side dishes.
